The sophomore-to-be center was selected in the first round, 20th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres.

The center, who doesn’t turn 18 until August, finished his freshman season with eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points as the youngest player in the NCAA.

Morozov is the fourth RedHawk ever to be selected in the first round. Tyler Biggs was taken 22nd by Toronto in 2011.

Both Jack Roslovic and Kevyn Adams went 25th overall. Roslovic was drafted by Winnipeg in 2015 and Adams by Boston in 1992.

Buffalo had not picked a Miamian in the draft since 2009, when the Sabres selected goalie Connor Knapp in the sixth round.

Bob Wallwork (12th round, 1988) and Boyd Sutton (10th round, 1985) are the other RedHawks that Buffalo has selected in the draft.

Incoming Miami freshman Tim Runtso is expected to go in the second or third round on Saturday.
