Red Savage is not returning.
The sophomore and Detroit Red Wings draft pick is among five Miami players who have entered the NCAA’s transfer portal, according to the Grand Forks Herald.
Savage, selected in the fourth round, 114th overall in 2021, finished his RedHawks career with 13 goals and 17 assists in 67 games.
Fellow sophomore Alex Murray, who played 19 games this season and recorded three assists, is also transferring, as is junior Michael Holland. Holland did not play a game in 2022-23 and is 1-0-1 in 18 career games.
Joey Cassetti and Chase Pletzke also hit the portal. Both are seniors and were not expected to return for their extra year of eligibility resulting from COVID.
