Entering Saturday, no Miami skater had scored multiple goals in consecutive games in nearly nine years.

After finding the net twice on Thursday, Ilia Morozov scored two more goals on Saturday as the RedHawks edged Robert Morris, 3-2 at Clearview Arena, completing a series sweep.

The last Miamian to score two or more goals in back-to-back games was Grant Hutton on Oct. 20-21 vs. Maine.

MU blew the Colonials out, 7-1 in Oxford on Thursday.

The RedHawks open a four-game homestand vs. Alaska-Anchorage next weekend.

RECAP: Miami (3-1) took the lead 6:31 into the first period when Morozov deked a defender at the blue line and whipped a wrist shot that beat Robert Morris goalie Charlie Schenkel.

Patrick Johnson tied it for Robert Morris (0-4) with 8:42 left in the opening frame on a wrister from the right point that was deflected off a Miami skater.

Morozov put the RedHawks ahead, 2-1 when he jammed home a bad-angle rebound from the left side of the net off a shot by Matteo Giampa on the power play with 3:39 remaining in the first stanza.

Giampa extended Miami’s lead to two with 4:37 left in the second period on a one-time missile from the left faceoff circle off a feed by David Helledy.

Robert Morris’ Gavin Ewles roofed a one-timer from the top of the crease with five seconds left in regulation to cut the final deficit to one.

STATS: Morozov’s two goals gave him four for the weekend, and he netted his third power play goal, matching his PPG total from last season.

Giampa also finished with two points, going 1-1-2. He finished with a goal and five assists for the series and has points in three straight games.

Matous Kucharcik also extended his points streak to three, picking up an assist, going 1-3-4 in that stretch.

Branko Vukas and Kocha Delic also picked up helpers for the second straight game, and Helledy notched his first point as a RedHawk.

— Miami scored twice on the power play, giving the RedHawks multiple PPGs in three straight games for the first time since Jan. 26-Feb. 2, 2018 vs. Colorado College and Western Michigan.

— MU has recorded at least 30 shots on goal in all four games this season, the first time the team has done so in four straight contests since Dec. 7, 2019-Jan. 11, 2020 against Bowling Green, St. Cloud State and Colorado College.

— The RedHawks were 2-for-8 on the power play, the first time they have had eight man-advantage opportunities since Nov. 5, 2022 vs. Western Michigan.

— Goalie Yegor Yegorov stopped 20 of 22 shots to earn the win in his Miami debut.

ANALYSIS: Segue…we were waiting for the Yegorov debut, and he finished with a .909 save percentage.

Yegorov looked a little nervous early but seemed to settle in well, making a couple of key saves in the third period. The first goal was against was on a deflection and the second was on an odd-man rush with a guy crashing the net in the closing seconds.

— Absolutely loved the play of Kucharcik. He seemingly can stickhandle past anyone, and he uses his 6-4 frame well. Not surprising that he’s 1-3-4 his last three games.

— Miami took yet another too many men penalty, its second of the season (after being assessed a bunch in 2025-26), but RMU had two minors for the same infraction. Giampa cashed in on the latter.

LINEUP CHANGES: Other than Yegorov for Matteo Drobac in net, just one: Miami went with seven defensemen, as Jack Hamilton made his debut, replacing forward John Emmons.

Following their third straight win, as of 10:30 p.m. EDT, the RedHawks were No. 16 in the NPI.

They host Alaska-Anchorage next weekend before beginning NCHC play.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This was a blue-collar game and Miami was the harder-working team.

The RedHawks took the lead and suffocated Robert Morris’ offense, limiting the Colonials to very few decent scoring chances.

It wasn’t a blowout like Thursday, but Miami earned the hard-nosed win.
