Miami’s future seems to get brighter by the week.

Buffalo Sabres 2025 fourth-round draft Matous Kucharcik committed to the RedHawks on Wednesday, as MU continues to load up on high-end talent for next season and beyond.
Kucharcik, 19, is in his first North American season with USHL Youngstown, and has registered nine goals and eight assists in 34 games.
The 6-foot-3 center, who was born in Vipiteno, Italy, played for on the Czech Republic’s Under-18 Juniors team in 2024-25, dishing for one assist in five games.
He went 6-10-16 in 27 games with the Czech Republic’s Under-20 team that season, and represented his country in the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he won silver.
Kucharcik is just the fourth Italian-born player drafted in the NHL along with Luca Sbisa, Damian Clara and Victor Posa.
Kucharcik’s father, Tomas, a 20-year pro in Europe, played for Vipiteno when Matous was born.
Kucharcik joins an impressive list of Miami commits including Ryan Seeling, Timo Runtso, Layne Loomer, Branko Vukas and Youngstown teammate Cal Huston.
