Another top USHL scorer is headed to Oxford this fall.

Lincoln forward Layne Loomer, who is currently tied for the league lead in assists and is third in points, committed to Miami on Thursday.
Loomer, 20, in his third season in the USHL, has 21 goals and 36 assists for 57 points, and he tops Lincoln skaters a plus-20 rating.
Loomer will join Des Moines’ Ryan Seelinger — fifth in the USHL with 50 points and fourth with 25 goals — who is also expected to play for MU this fall.
Loomer is the third Star set to join the RedHawks, along with teammates Nate Pederson and Griffin Brown.
With so many current players having success and remaining eligibility, Miami is expected to bring in a smaller class this fall a year after adding 21 for this season.
But RedHawks coach Anthony Noreen said of his team’s expected additions: “Every guy should be impactful”.
Others expected to hit the ice for the RedHawks next season include defensemen Timo Runtso, Branko Vukas and Cal Huston.
Vukas is in his second full USHL season and is 1-10-11 between Omaha and Muskegon, and Huston has a goal and eight assists in 36 games with Youngstown.
Runtso is expected to be selected in the second or third round of this summer’s NHL draft. He has eight goals and 26 assists for 34 points with WHL Victoria.
