Like Miami, Colorado College has fattened up on non-conference competition and struggled in conference play.
The Tigers are 6-2 in non-league games but is off to a 2-5-1 start in the NCHC. With just seven conference points, CC is eighth in the league, two ahead of last-place Miami.
The RedHawks haven’t beaten Colorado College since Jan. 10, 2020 and are 0-12-2 vs. the Tigers since.

NOTES: Colorado College has certainly been good at keeping fans in the rink until the final horn.
The Tigers have played in 10 straight games that have been decided by two goals or fewer, including three November overtime contests.
Not surprisingly, that means Colorado College has played in a ton of lower-scoring games early. The Tigers are tied for 17th in the NCAA in goals allowed per game and are scoring at just a 2.75-marker clip.
Kaiden Mbereko, whose father played professional rugby in Zimbabwe, has logged all but 60 minutes this season and boasts a 2.32 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage.
However, freshman Jackson Unger was between the pipes for his first collegiate stint in Colorado’s most recent game vs. Providence on Nov. 29, and he turned 25 of 27 shots aside but lost in overtime.
The Tigers are extremely young on defense — only one non-sophomore or freshman has dressed on the CC blue line this season except Max Burkholder, and he has played three games. No Colorado College defenseman has more points than freshman Colton Roberts‘ six.
Offensively, Ottawa draftee Owen Beckner leads the team in scoring by four with a line of 6-10-16.

Gavin Lindberg and Klavs Veinbergs are tied with Beckner for the lead with six goals apiece. Lindberg is tops on the Tigers with a plus-10 rating.
On Thursday, Miami announced goalie Shika Gadzhiev was leaving the team to pursue other opportunities. Coincidentally, on the same day, QMJHL Rimouski goalie Mathis Langevin was added the RedHawks’ roster.
Matteo Drobac has logged every minute in net for MU thus far in 2025-26.
Colorado is in eighth place in the NCHC with seven points, and Miami is last with five, so this major opportunity for the RedHawks to climb out of the conference basement on their home ice.
