Miami Hall of Famer and all-time leading goal scorer Rick Kuraly passed away after a short battle with cancer on Sept. 4.

Kuraly, 65, scored 101 goals in 1979-83 — 11 more than anyone in school history — including a Miami-record 36 on the power play.
His 179 career points ranks third of the RedHawks’ all-time leaderboard, and he the only Miamian ever to score five goals in a game.
Kuraly was also named to the academic all-CCHA team his senior season, 1982-83.
Kuraly was named to the Miami athletics Hall of Fame in 2014. His son, Sean Kuraly, played for MU from 2012 to 2016 and was the RedHawks’ team captain in 2015-16.
Sean Kuraly is a nine-year NHL veteran who signed with the Boston Bruins in July.
