Miami’s top-rated NHL prospect will join the RedHawks this fall as a 17-year-old.

That’s what Miami coach Anthony Noreen told Matthew Buhrmann of Thehockeywriters.com earlier this week.
Ilia Morozov, who played for USHL Tri-City last season, isn’t even NHL draft eligible until 2026, and some publications have him projected as a first-round pick next year.
Morozov, from Moskva, Russia, went 11-11-22 in 59 games with the Storm this season, his first in the USHL. He racked up 33 goals and 41 assists for 74 points in 49 games with Windy City U-15 in 2023-24.
Morozov turns 17 in August and has only been in the U.S. for two years, but he has already satisfied the high school credit requirement to attend Miami.
