Miami is set in net for the upcoming season.

The RedHawks signed Benjamin Motew from Corpus Christi of the North American Hockey League, giving them a full complement of three goalies.
Motew played 20 games for Maryland of the NAHL last season before being traded in late January for future considerations to Corpus Christi, where he backstopped the IceRays to their first division finals berth in eight years.
He finished with a combined 20-17 record, including a pair of shutouts in 2024-25, his first NAHL season. Motew — who was previously committed to Air Force — ended the campaign with a .905 save percentage and 2.73 goals-against average in 2,204 minutes.
Motew thrived in the playoffs, posting a 1.64 GAA and a save percentage of .949, finishing with a 5-3 record and one clean sheet.
None of Miami’s three goalies from 2024-25 are returning — Brett Miller graduated and Ethan Dahlmeir and Bruno Bruveris entered the portal and eventually transferred.
Motew rounds out the incoming goalie class, joining Shika Gadzhiev and Matteo Drobac.
Also, forward and Miami signee Ian Scherzer flipped his commitment to RPI.
Scherzer, who was in the RedHawks’ pipeline before current coach Anthony Noreen took over last spring, went 8-12-20 with USHL Madison in 2024-25, his first season in North America.
